Date of death
[edit]Sources regarding von Forstner's death are somewhat inconclusive. Currently sources indicate that he was killed when U 402 was sunk on 13 October 1943 with all hands lost, while other sources suggest that he succumbed to his injuries on 22 October 1943, nine days after the sinking of U 402. A possible explanation could be that Siegfried von Fostner is confused with Wolfgang Friedrich von Forstner (brother?), commander of U 472. U 472 was sunk on 4 March 1944 with 23 dead and 30 survivors. MisterBee1966 (talk) 21:32, 5 August 2008 (UTC)
